Summer Business Camp for Moldovan Youth
Welcome to the official TRUST Camp website.
Recognizing a need to emphasize sound, ethical business principles in a developing Moldovan economy, TRUST Camp was created to fulfill this need. Motivating and educating Moldovan youth is the best was to initiate economic change, to shape their world around them. The TRUST Camp staff is a collaboration of Peace Corps volunteers from diverse backgrounds, Junior Achievement staff well-equipped with economic activities, and Economic University students eager to provide a positive role model for the younger participants.
June 18-20, TRUST Camp kicked off it's first summer camp in Anenii-Noi. Students from the school "Mihai Eminescu" learned about business, marketing, accounting, economics and ethics through interactive games, lecture and group work. In the board game CAPITAL they uncovered principles of international trade, through SWOT analysis evaluated local entrepreneurial ideas, and considered ethical dilemmas in business with case studies.
In its' first year of operation, TRUST Camp will reach out to 180 students from 6 regional centers in Moldova. In addition, local business leaders and NGO workers will also participate in camp activities, offering their insight about the current Moldovan economic climate. With funding from the U.S. Embassy Democracy Commission Small Grants Program, this summer camp seeks to encourage student into business-related professions and academic training.
