Summer Business Camp for Moldovan Youth
Introduction
What is TRUST Camp?
TRUST Camp stands for Tinerile Resurse Umane in Stabilizarea Tarii, or Youth Resources in Stabilizing their Country. It aims to provide youth motivation and resources toward success in business. The future is in the hands of our youth, and TRUST Camp wants to better equip Moldovan youth for careers in business.
Why?
TRUST Camp was founded on the primary goals to:
-Teach practical business concepts to youth and teachers using a variety of interactive techniques
-Promote ethical business practices
-Collaborate with educators to develop future business clubs through local schools or other institutions
How does TRUST Camp work?
TRUST Camp is a 3 day weekend seminar organized very differently from other summer camps: it brings the facilitators, materials and interactivities activities right into the participants' community. It emphasizes local resources and guest speakers known in the community. It operates as a daycamp, cutting down operational costs. Volunteers teach a variety of topics, relying on their unique business experience. The result is a highly effective seminar structured in a highly-receptive format, fun and entertaining for the participants
Which subjects are covered by the camp?
The Participants will learn a variety of subjects, including economics, accounting, marketing, small business development, and business ethics. In addition, informational segments demostrating proper resumes, customer service, self presentation and cell phone rules. The technology session demostrates the basics of EXCEL, a widely-used spreadsheet program. In a short period of time the participants are exposed to a wide range of business information.
